July 19th, 2008

We are moving from a powerful Capricorn full moon with the theme of holy piligrimage towards an important Leo solar eclipse opening the gateway to a renaissance of creativity. This is a highly spiritualized time in a background of epic global changes. The following article by Curtis Lang of the Satya Center is an execellent read that puts all the details of these times into a newsworthy and factually accurate perspective, as well as a workable spiritual framework that points us toward the future in a postive manner. I highly recommend this piece of writing.

Overview
Freedom of speech and freedom of action are meaningless without freedom to think. And there is no freedom of thought without doubt.
– Bergen Evans (1904-1978), from The Natural History of Nonsense, (1946), chapter 19
July begins with a Cancer New Moon on July 02. Retrograde Jupiter in Capricorn opposes the New Moon, giving us pause to rethink our philosophical or spiritual structures as they relate to our personal comfort zones of home and family. This review is aided by retrograde Uranus in Pisces trining the Cancer New Moon, so that we are open to changing our beliefs in ways that are nurturing and promote compassion to all.
Mars moves to conjunct Saturn in the early degrees of Virgo, and the two make an out-of-sign trine to Pluto retrograde in Sagittarius at the anaretic degree. Taking action to create structure in our daily lives of work routines and health habits is in easy accord with the internal transformation of our religious philosophies and ethical foundations.
Retrograde Neptune, the North Node of the Moon, and Chiron are still keeping company in the third decanate of Aquarius, making it possible for us to positively envision and implement new technologies that heal the human condition. Spiritual revelations are floating freely in the waters of the collective unconscious as we turn our sails towards the future with hope and into humanitarian directions.
Jupiter and Chiron, along with the outer planets Uranus, Neptune and Pluto all remain retrograde for the entire month, again emphasizing an introspective mood in the collective numinous experience.
Towards the end of the month, the Sun moves into Leo where it conjuncts transiting Mercury. Thinking or talking excessively about ourselves could lead to mental burnout. In addition, Venus in Leo conjunct the South Node of the Moon and opposing retrograde Neptune in Aquarius emphasizes the warning that expressions of egotism could become a waste of valuable energy, or lead to romantic infatuations that could prove to be disillusioning. On the other hand, the same Venus/Neptune opposition may be positively expressed through artistic self-expression that serves a humanitarian purpose.

Transits
June 24: Sun in Cancer sextiles Saturn in Virgo. The will to nurture finds opportunities in stable, yet limited work and service. There may not be a lot of resources, yet with careful planning, there is enough to feed all who are in need.
June 26: Uranus goes stationary retrograde in Pisces at the 23rd degree. The span of this retrograde runs from 19 Pisces to 23 Pisces. It began on March 10, 2008 and will conclude on March 13, 2009. On November 27, 2008, Uranus will go stationary direct at 19 Pisces before making its way out of the retrograde zone. Check your own chart for the span of 19 to 23 Pisces to see where you are undergoing a change in your beliefs. Work out all the aspects to planets, house cusps and astrological points to see how this change will affect you personally.
June 30: Mars in Leo trines retrograde Pluto in Sagittarius at the anaretic degree. Both international military affairs and personal creative enterprises involving self-expression within philosophical terms receive an intense burst of energy in order to finish up matters of leadership, ideology, and and foreign affairs. Issues of religious zealotry come to the fore.

Transits
June 17: Venus in Gemini opposes retrograde Pluto in Sagittarius at the anaretic degree. A sugar-coated version of cultural or religious domination could be offered as some form of last chance or ultimatum before a critical change takes place.

June 18: Sagittarius Full Moon: Sol in Gemini opposes Luna in Sagittarius at the 28th degree. Intellectual seeds planted two weeks ago at the Gemini New Moon could be showing some sort of philosophical fruition.

Transits
June 08: Retrograde Mercury in Gemini sextiles Mars in Leo at the 17th degree. We may find it easy to express a desire to lead, but we should make sure the words are really sincere, rather than just a desire to return to a shining version of the past.
June 08: Venus conjuncts the Sun in Gemini at the 18th degree. We may feel impelled to declare our love in ways that could be a little too close to our own egos.
June 11: Venus in Gemini squares Uranus in Pisces at the 23rd degree. Maudlin sentimentality could have us stuck in the past, especially since Uranus is about to go retrograde at said degree later in the month on June 27. The winds of change have us readjusting our sails to change our directions in the areas of beliefs and ideals as related to the concepts of karmic retribution, spiritual redemption and humanitarian compassion.
June 12: Sun in Gemini squares Uranus in Pisces at the 23rd degree. Words may be inadequate to express a sudden change in our beliefs, especially if a newfound regret or remorse is involved. Spiritual renewal or redemption might be better expressed with more credibility at a later date by acting upon the ideals, rather than talking about them now.
June 13: Venus in Gemini trines retrograde Neptune in Aquarius at the 25th degree. Sweet words and humanitarian ideals are harmoniously attuned. We return to a kinder, gentler time, at least as we would imagine those times to have been.
June 13: Retrograde Pluto transits the most critical degree of the zodiac, 00:00 Capricorn. Critical changes are reviewed and renewed in all affairs both personal and political. Check your own chart to see where the changes are affecting you and delineate all the aspects and points, especially as they relate to the Cardinal Cross: 0 Cancer, 0 Capricorn, 0 Libra, and 0 Aries. There’s a whole lot of shaking going on.
June 14: Sun in Gemini trines retrograde Neptune in Aquarius
at the 25th degree. We may easily articulate our fondest hopes for humanity. The recent pained feeling of being tongue-tied about our changed beliefs may now be alleviated though an eloquent statement.

Transits
June 03: Gemini New Moon: Sol conjuncts Luna in Gemini at the 14th degree. Venus and Mercury flank the New Moon, making our thinking very idealistic. Idealism is emphasized by the North Node of the Moon and Neptune in Aquarius. However, Mercury and Neptune are both retrograde, and Uranus in Pisces squares the Moon, telling us that our idealistic thinking would somehow be related to wanting to return to the past in some ways that may turn out to be impractical or largely a figment of the imagination. This would be a good time for fanstasizing and going inward to find messages from the unconscious, but don’t take everything communicated as the literal truth. Let the subconscious energies speak to you gently in artistic ways concerning matters of the sublime or the transcendental realms.
June 03: Gemini New Moon sextiles Mars in Leo at the 14th degree. We may feel impelled to express ourselves in lively and articulate ways. However, since there is quite a bit of fantasy and wishful thinking in the air, take yourself and others “with a grain of salt.”
June 06: Venus in Gemini sextiles Mars in Leo at the 16th degree. There is an opportunity for creative eloquence.
June 07: Retrograde Mercury conjuncts the Sun in Gemini at the 18th degree. Thinking about the past could be brilliant or just a flash-in-the-pan.
June 07: Retrograde Mercury conjuncts Venus in Gemini at the 18th degree. Remembrance of those we have loved brings beautiful reveries.
