Overview
We have moved out of the creative frenzy of the recent Leo Stellium opposing Neptune in Aquarius. This month brings a very big change to the celestial atomosphere. The change is very Virgo, especially since Saturn, the planet of responsibility, moves into Virgo where it will reside until the end of October, 2009. So it’s time to get to work and organize all those creative projects you envisioned a few weeks ago. Next step: do the work. There will be lots of it during the next couple of years. As Thomas Edison said, Genius is one percent inspiration and 99 percent perspiration.
As for the month of September, 2007, the middle of the month brings us some difficult energy. It looks like religious unrest as certain segments of the population and the mass media try to bring us back to the confusion of September 11, 2001. We have a Virgo Solar Eclipse on September 11, 2007, and also a mutable grand cross, so be aware that the will to exercise our critical intelligence may become stressed or even eliminated in an atmosphere that is emotionally confused by religious and philosophical extremism attempting to dominate the linguistic channels of communication.
Things will settle down during the last days of the month of September, 2007, as diplomacy will win the day at the very last minute and the reasonable and just atmosphere of Libra should prevail. Mercury in Libra will finally sextile Pluto in Sagittarius and Mercury also will trine Mars in Gemini at the anaretic degree. Peace talks should be successful, as will the literary arts, for those who may be so inclined.
Also, this month I am introducing one of my new projects, the Aquarian Vegetarian, an almanac feature that I hope someday will grow into a cookbook combining my original vegetarian recipes with astrological lore. (It’s a project I’ve had on my back burner for many years.)
Transits for September, 2007
Week of September 02 to September 08

September 02: Saturn enters Virgo. Responsibility and hard work will be emphasized from now until October 30, 2009. We have a long row to hoe, so it’s time we get organized and learn how to whistle while we work. Professionalism in work and service will require great attention to detail and an ability to work within structured patterns. Saturn brings limitations and setbacks to people who work for a living, but if they remain steadfast to their duties, they will find they have been well-rewarded for their efforts with a set of practical and enduring skills by the time Saturn leaves the sign of Virgo.
September 02: Mercury in Virgo squares Retrograde Pluto in Sagittarius at the 28th degree. The best way to get organized seems to be at odds with keeping some form of final control over a belief structure under review. Contradictory statements based in oppressive societal structures of religion or philosophy should not be taken too seriously. Don’t try to force square pegs into round holes.
September 03: Mars in Gemini squares Uranus in Pisces at the 17th degree. Be careful to avoid accidents caused by thinking precipitously. Also, try to be careful about what you say to others because there is a tendency for people to become easily offended if they believe that communication directed towards them might be intended to change their own pre-existing beliefs. This energy is accident prone and quarrelsome, so watch out for signs of trouble and avoid tricky situations and people.
September 03: Retrograde Venus in Leo sextiles Mars at the 18th degree of Gemini. Yesterday’s love goddesses and fashions are momentarily spoken of in fond terms. Before you buy that Princess phone, however, try to determine whether or not you really want it because the retro-queen or princess look may not seem so attractive when Venus goes directly through Virgo.
September 03: Sun at the 11th degree of Virgo squares Jupiter in Sagittarius. We have a tendency to bite off more that we can chew, so try to resist making promises that might not be so easy to keep.
September 05: Mercury enters Libra. Our thinking is concerned with fairness and beauty. We tend towards the literary arts and justice. This is a nice time to socialize.
September 07: Pluto goes Stationary Direct at the 27th degree of Sagittarius. Our internal review of abstract theories concerning foreign affairs, the judiciary, and also our own values and beliefs as inherited social paradigms is mostly over and we are ready to move forward in accordance with conclusive theoretical principles.
September 08: Venus goes Stationary Direct at the 17th degree of Leo. We are finished with the styles of the nobility and getting ready to move into a more practical and durable sense of style. Where are those blue jeans?
September 08: Mars in Gemini trines Retrograde Neptune at the 20th degree of Aquarius. We take action for our own benefit by speaking up about humanitarian beliefs that are in review.
Week of September 09 to September 15
September 09: Sun in Virgo opposes Retrograde Uranus in Pisces at the 17th degree. Our will to be practical must be balanced with our humanitarian ideals, otherwise we could make changes that throw out babies with bathwater. Moderation in all things proves to be the best policy.
September 11: Virgo Solar Eclipse – New Moon at the 19th degree of Virgo. Mutable grand cross brings religious unrest and problems with public health and the evironment. Crop failures, health and welfare issues, such as food inspections and purity are matters of public concern. Saturn at the last degree of Leo brings the fall of someone in power and monetary devaluations.
September 13: Mercury in Libra sextiles Jupiter in Sagittarius at the 12th degree. Fair thinking opens the door to increased profits: mutual benefits bring opportunities for future growth and prosperity.
Week of September 16 to September 22

September 17: Sun in Virgo squares Mars in Gemini at the 24th degree. Our will to work in an organized manner is at odds with our desire to speak. Talking could interfere with getting the job done. We would benefit by first collecting our information before trying to analyze it.
September 17: Mercury in Libra sextiles Venus, now moving direct in Leo at the 19th degree. We are inclined to agree with the poetic statement that truth is beauty and beauty is truth, and would enjoy creating a beautiful atmosphere where we could appreciate the fine arts.
September 18: Mercury in Libra trines Retrograde Neptune in Aquarius. We easily connect the notion of fair thinking with our subconscious review of humanitarian ideals.
September 19: Sun in Virgo squares Pluto, now moving directly, at the 26th degree of Sagittarius. Religious extremism based in notions of purity and exclusion creates egotistical outbursts of the will to discriminate.
September 21: Mars in Gemini opposes Pluto at the 26th degree of Sagittarius. Religious extremism is expressed in fighting words.
September 21: Venus in Leo opposes Retrograde Neptune in Aquarius. Hollywood-style expressions of humanitarian ideals may be more concerned with a fleetingly glamorous appearance than with the ideals themselves.
Week of September 23 to September 29
September 23: Sun enters Libra: Autumn Equinox brings us to a perfectly balanced day and night. We appreciate symmetry and enjoy the beauty of an equisitely mellow season. Harvest celebrations bring convivial society.
September 24: Mercury in Libra sextiles Pluto at the 27th degree of Sagittarius. Balanced articulation of foreign policy smooths the way for transformative philosophies where religion and wealth are concerned. The door is open to the diplomat.
September 26: Mercury in Libra trines Mars in Gemini at the 29th degree. Peace talks achieve harmony at the very last minute.
September 26: Sol in Libra opposes Luna at the fourth degree of Aries: Aries Full Moon brings a perfect balance between peace and self-interest.
September 27: Mercury enters Scorpio. Thinking turns towards communal resources and the mysterious.
September 28: Mars enters Cancer. We feel defensive concerning the boundaries of the clan and the homeland, and may become prone to hurt feelings.
September 30: Mercury in Scorpio sextiles Saturn in Virgo at the fourth degree, setting off (and finishing up) the August 28, 2007, lunar eclipse at the fifth degree of Virgo. We’re getting some good ideas about how we can manage mutual resources in economical ways.

I believe that our Heavenly Father invented man because he was disappointed in the monkey. – Mark Twain (Libra joke: fair and balanced.)
